Purpose
-
To establish and maintain a place for the worship of the Triune God: Almighty living God our heavenly Father, Christ Jesus the Savior and Lord, and the Holy Spirit.
-
To provide for Christian Fellowship for those of like precious faith, whereas the Lord may be honored through the working of the Holy Spirit based upon our distinctive testimony.
-
To assume our share of the responsibility and the privilege of propagating the gospel of Jesus Christ by all available means, both at home and in foreign lands.
Vision
Our vision is to resurrect the book of Acts revival through home gatherings by moving in the power of the Holy Spirit to expand the Kingdom of God in the U. S. and in the world.
Mission
Our mission is to equip disciples of Christ to evangelize and deliver lost, hurting, and suffering souls in Hampton Roads, VA and the nations by moving in signs, wonders, and miracles.
Action
RLM Ecclesia strives to fulfill the commandment of God in Matthew 10:7-8 each day for His glory.
"And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."
History
RLM Ecclesia began operating as a church in February 2002 in Niceville, Florida. Since October of 2005, we relocated our headquarters to Virginia Beach, VA and started RLM Ecclesia Fellowship as a home church to equip disciples of Christ and expand the Kingdom of God from Virginia Beach to the nations of the world. RLM Ecclesia has been a corner stone to implement God's commandments in Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, and Matthew 10:7-8 through RLM in the U.S. and in the world. We are governed by our Board of Directors and have conducted numerous special discipleship trainings in Hampton Roads through Global Harvest Network (GHN) seminars.
Tenants of Faith
River of Life Ministries shall accept the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God which are written that we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him we may have eternal life in His Name.
1. The Scripture Inspired
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative source of Christian doctrine and precept.
II Timothy 3:15-17; I Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12
2. The One True God
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 6:3, 43:10; Mark 12:29; Matthew 28:19
3. Man, His Fall and Redemption
We believe that man was created in the image of God, but as a result of sin is lost and powerless to save himself, and the only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God.
Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21
4. The Salvation of Man
A) Conditions of Salvation – The grace of God, which brings salvation, had appeared to all men, through preaching of repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ; man is saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, and, being justified by grace through faith, he becomes an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.
B) The Evidence of Salvation – The only hope for man is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, who died to take upon Himself the punishment for the sins of mankind, and who rose from the dead so that by receiving Him as Savior and Lord, man is redeemed by His blood back to the Father God - John 14:6. The inward evidence is the direct witness of the Holy Spirit – Romans 8:15-16.
The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and holiness - Romans 1:16, 10:9-10.
Titus 2:11, 3:5-7; Romans 10:13-15; Luke 24:47
5. Christ’s Personal Return
We believe in Jesus Christ’s personal return to earth in power and glory.
1 Corinthians 15:51-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
6. The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Trinity, who exercises the power of the Father and the Son Jesus Christ in creation and redemption. The Holy Spirit is the power by which believers come to Christ and see Him with new eyes of faith. The Holy Spirit indwells in those whom have received Jesus Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live righteous and holy lives. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to be witnesses of Jesus Christ from Jerusalem to the end of the earth. Jesus Christ baptizes believers with the Holy Spirit and fire.
Genesis 1:2; Acts 1:8; Matthew 3:11; Ephesians 1:13-14
7. Baptism in Water
The Ordinance of Baptism by a burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures, by all that have really repented and in their hearts have truly believed in Christ as Savior and Lord. In so doing, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they also have been raised with Him to walk in newness of life.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:1-14
8. The Lord’s Supper
The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the elements, bread and the fruit of the vine, is the symbol expressing our sharing the divine nature of our Lord Jesus Christ, a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming, and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes.”
John 6:48, 51, 53-57; Luke 22:19-20; II Peter 1:4; I Corinthians 11:17-26
9. The Promise of the Father
All believers are entitled to, and should ardently expect and earnestly seek, the promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and Fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry. This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of new birth.
Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8, 2:1-4 & 38, 10:44, 11:14-16, 15:7-9; I Corinthians 12:10-31
10. Entire Sanctification
The Scriptures teach a life of holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we are able to obey the command, “Be ye holy, for I am Holy.” Entire sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word.
Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:15-16; I Thessalonians 5:23-24; I John 2:6; Romans 8:3-4
11. The Church
The church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Therefore, the Church is mission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of God’s mission through the local church.
Matthew 16:18-19; Ephesians 1:22, 2:19-22
12. The Ministry and Evangelism
A divinely called and Scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for a two fold purpose: (1) The evangelization of the world, and (2) The edifying of the body of Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15, 20; Ephesians 4:11-13
13. The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their transformation, together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, is imminent and the blessed hope of the Church.
I Thessalonians 4:16, 18; Romans 11:25, 27; Revelations 20:1-7
14. The Millennial Reign of Jesus
The revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, the salvation of the people of Israel, and the millennial reign of Jesus Christ on the earth is the Scriptural promise and the world’s hope.
II Thessalonians 1:7; Revelations 20:1-7
15. The Lake of Fire
The devil and his demons, the beast and the false prophet, and whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
Revelations 19: 20, 20:10-15
16. The New Heavens and The New Earth
We, “according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwells righteousness.”
II Peter 3:13; Revelations 21:1
